The majority of my clients are those affected by family court litigation. I have a profound understanding of the stresses faced by adults and children involved in divorce and custody disputes, and actively work with family members to explore creative solutions to difficult circumstances caused by separation or divorce. I also work with adults who have experienced the stressors of growing up in homes where there was high conflict between parents or those for whom current circumstances may feel difficult or overwhelming.
Using a cognitive-behavioral perspective for older children, teens and adults, I help my clients identify thoughts, feelings and behaviors that impact daily functioning or the ability to function in difficult circumstance. The purpose of this therapy is to help individuals become better equipped to reach their current and future goals. With younger children, I use play-based therapy to allow children an opportunity to address their issues in a developmentally appropriate way. Young children use play as a medium of expression, like adults use words to express themselves Please note, I am not a registered play therapist (RPT). I understand that, although a client may seek help for one particular issue, personalized counseling can result in an individual learning important new skills that can be used in a wide range of circumstances.
My areas of experience include:

In addition to my psychotherapy practice, I also serve as a supervisor to individuals seeking advanced licensure as LCSWs and my clients may choose to work with these individuals for a lower fee.
